In the Nick of Time! is a heartfelt story about Jackie, a woman struggling to find joy in Christmas after the loss of her beloved mother, Vicky. Overcome with grief, Jackie believes celebrating the holidays would dishonor her mother’s memory—much to the dismay of her children, husband, and father. Despite their efforts, her heart remains closed until her Aunt Ruby, a woman of strong faith, steps in with prayer and determination to help rekindle Jackie’s spirit. This emotional journey beautifully reveals the power of prayer to change hearts, bring healing, and restore what grief has taken away. Through love, faith, and divine intervention, In the Nick of Time! reminds us that God can turn sorrow into joy and make all things new—just in time.

Meet CJ Hendrix
Playwright, Founder, Visionary
A native of Greenville, North Carolina, Carolyn J. Hendrix (CJ) has always carried the belief that she was created to make a difference. Her remarkable journey from retail management to theatrical visionary is living proof that when we yield to God’s purpose, He can redirect our path and reveal a destiny far greater than anything we could imagine.
After over thirteen years of success in retail management and sales, Carolyn began to sense a deep stirring in her spirit — a call to something more. The unexpected loss of a dear friend became a defining moment that turned her focus from success to significance. In that season of reflection and surrender, she made a heartfelt commitment to impact lives by giving more of herself.
We rarely see the full picture of God’s plan, yet He always knows where He’s leading us. In the midst of her everyday routine, CJ didn’t have to search for her destiny — it found her. Through the birth of pop-up theatre and a renewed passion for writing, she discovered that God’s timing is perfect and His power to transform our lives never fades, no matter our age or stage in life.

Within two months, she penned High Heels. Both plays premiered at the Henrico Theatre with powerful messages: Never stop living.
